Yasirah Madhi is a Junior Climate Policy and Food Systems Researcher with a focus on rights-based, gender-responsive, and socially inclusive approaches to climate action. She holds an MSc in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from the University of Cape Town, where her research focused on climate adaptation strategies across African cities. Her current work focuses on how climate policy can better respond to the realities of the food system. She works on developing accessible policy resources, convening civil society actors, and supporting the development of shared priorities for engagement with government. Her previous experience includes advancing human rights-based approaches to climate finance and supporting youth engagement in climate advocacy.
