Busani Ngcaweni directs the Centre for Public Policy and African Studies at the Johannesburg Business School, University of Johannesburg. He is a pracademic working at the intersection of policy design, institutional reform, and state execution, with a focus on policy coherence and implementation. He has held senior roles in the Presidency and led the National School of Government, with work spanning public sector reform, economic governance, and administrative capability across major national programmes. He has edited several academic books and contributes to public discourse through local and international media. His research examines how states in the Global South align policy, institutions, and execution to produce developmental outcomes.
