Kamal Ramburuth is a Researcher in Sovereign Debt and Development Finance at the IEJ, and leads our Global Economic Governance project. Kamal previously led the IEJ’s G20 Project that advanced progressive economic policy in G20 negotiations. He has previously worked as a researcher at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD).  As a student, Kamal was a co-founder of the Rethinking Economics for Africa chapter at Wits and served as an elected member of the inaugural Rethinking Economics International members council. Kamal holds a BComm (Hons) in Applied Development Economics from Wits and Masters in Economics from the University of Turin and Economic Policy from the Sorbonne.
