Atlegang Matlala is the Fundraising Manager of the IEJ. He has over a decade of experience in resource mobilisation and donor relations across the international development and humanitarian sectors, raising funding from institutional donors, major private philanthropic foundations, corporates and family offices on behalf of civil society organisations across Africa. His experience spans issues including economic and social justice, anti-corruption, governance and democracy, climate change, food security, women’s rights, health access, education, migration and displacement, and gender-based violence. Most recently, Atlegang managed a global donor portfolio as Development & Partnerships Manager at the Transparency International Secretariat in Berlin. In previous roles, Atlegang led fundraising strategy across 19 African countries at ActionAid International, headed partnerships at Save the Children South Africa, and managed strategic partnerships and donor development at Médecins Sans Frontières Southern Africa.
