
Seutame Maimele
Seutame Maimele is a Researcher in Green Industrial Policy within the JET team. He specialises in global climate policy, sustainable development, climate-compatible value chains, and the just transition. Previously, he worked at Trade and Industrial Policy Strategies (TIPS), where he led research on the intersection of climate change and trade, focusing on the impact of global climate policies on South Africa and Africa, particularly in relation to low-carbon development and international trade. Before joining TIPS, he worked for the Western Cape Government, contributing to post-COVID economic recovery planning and provincial economic strategy, and at OneWorld Sustainable Investments, where he supported climate change and just transition projects. He holds a Master’s degree in Local Economic Development from the University of Johannesburg and has authored and contributed to policy research and publications on climate change, industrial competitiveness, and the green economy.
