Submission by the Budget Justice Coalition in response to 2020 Medium Term Budget

BJC makes this submission to the Joint Sitting of the Finance Committees with great concern for the direction that the 2020 MTBPS seeks to take South Africa. Years of budget cuts to education spending, health care spending, social services, public housing, infrastructure, agriculture, roads and public transport, to name a few, detailed in previous BJC submissions – coupled with widespread corruption throughout government and the state-owned companies, has already eroded the quality of public goods available to the majority of people.
