Sinazo Sijovu

Energy Policy intern

Sinazo is an Energy Policy Intern at the IEJ. She holds a Masters degree specialising in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Pretoria and a PPE Honours degree from UCT. Her research focused on the nexus between conflict and climate change, and the impacts of both human security threats on economically marginalised communities in the Horn of Africa. Sinazo has served on the Johannesburg Junior Council and previously worked with the Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation (GovInn). She was an active student leader who has remained passionate about issues of transformation. She is a fellow of the Auwal Socio-Economic Research Institute’s Future Leaders Programme and has been volunteering on the leadership team of Marang Foundation NPO since 2020.
